Characteristics and maintenance knowledge of Waterborne PU leather

PU is the abbreviation of poly urethane in English, and its chemical Chinese name is polyurethane. Polyurethane leather has excellent properties. Overseas, due to the influence of Animal Protection Association and the development of technology, the performance and application of polyurethane synthetic leather is better than that of natural leather.

The toughness, air permeability and wear resistance of polyurethane were further strengthened by adding superfine fibers. There is no doubt that the performance of such manufactured products is quite excellent. Water-borne PU leather is often used in good bags.

1. Generally speaking, clean water-borne PU leather bags mostly use clean brushes or cotton cloth suitable for various materials to remove dust and dirt.

2. If water-borne PU leather is wiped with leather detergent, the common glasses-wiping cloth is a cheap and easy-to-use good helper. It won’t scratch your beloved bag, and even application can restore the gloss of the bag.

3. Dual-purpose eraser with one gray pencil and one white atom pen at both ends can be used as a cleaning tool for suede bags. If slightly dirty, it can be gently wiped off by white eraser with general pencil eraser. If serious dirty, it can be removed by one end of gray eraser with atom pen eraser. The reason is that the friction is stronger, but the lower hand must be lighter to avoid damaging water-borne PU leather.

4. Clean water-borne PU leather, you can gently press the surface of the bag with a wet cloth without dripping water. Besides silk, silk and satin, you can try toothbrush with toothpaste for local cleaning.

5. No matter what kind of water-borne PU leather is made of, it should be put in the ventilated place to dry after cleaning, but don’t try to get sunshine quickly, because the bag after washing with clean water is the most vulnerable time. Sudden high temperature irradiation will lead to the fading of the bag or the hardening and brittleness of the leather.

6. Different materials of Waterborne PU leather, such as suede wrapping and leather wrapping, should be treated separately when cleaning. In addition, if there are rivet decoration or metal fastening rings on the wrapping, attention must also be paid to the use of metal cleaning agents to carefully maintain the wrapping, so as not to let the metal part rust and damage the overall aesthetic feeling of the wrapping.

7. When water-borne PU leather is not in use, remember to pack some empty bags with newspapers or old clothes and put them into dustproof bags to collect them. It is also necessary to avoid folding and heavy pressure in order to avoid creases or cracks.
